Kaufman Rossin Donates $100K to FIU Foundation

Kaufman Rossin, one of the largest independent CPA and advisory firms in Florida, has donated $100,000 to the FIU Foundation in support of the University’s College of Business. The gift will be recognized with the naming of a classroom in the College’s MANGO building as the “Kaufman Rossin Classroom.”

“About eight years ago, I spearheaded an internal fundraising campaign at our firm, which raised $50,000 for FIU’s College of Business,” said Steven M. Berwick (BBA ‘74), CPA, CVA, CITP, CFF, Principal of Assurance, Advisory Services and Litigation Consulting at Kaufman Rossin. “This time, we wanted to do even more and really get our employees engaged in giving back to the university. I worked with FIU’s Office of Advancement and championed an internal campaign to encourage the FIU alumni at our firm to commit to a five-year gift to the university. The campaign resulted in $50,000 in donations from our employees (via payroll deductions) and another $50,000 in firm-matched funds.”

The donation will be used to support scholarships for graduate students pursuing their Master’s in Accounting and for general operating support of the College of Business. The college is split into two schools, the Landon Undergraduate School of Business with over 7,000 students and the Chapman Graduate School of Business with close to 1,500 students, making the College of Business the most popular and largest professional college at Florida International University.
