Blain Heckaman leads Kaufman Rossin’s expansion of financial services

Blain Heckaman, CEO of Kaufman Rossin.

Indiana native Blain Heckaman came to Miami in 1984 as a young accountant for the sun and fun and landed at Kaufman Rossin, serving entrepreneurial, public, non-profit and individual clients.

Mr. Heckaman worked his way up through the ranks, and almost four decades later he is now CEO of the company and oversees approximately 500 employees and the operations of the company with clients in all 50 states.

Mr. Heckaman attributes much of his success to the culture and people that have worked with him at Kaufman Rossin. “I’m very fortunate and the firm is very fortunate to have grown up and evolved in a culture that is focused on its people first, and our challenge is to continue the legacy of Jim Kaufman and Jay Rossin,” he said.

Mr. Heckaman is just beginning his final four-year term as the leader of the company, and he is already
working on a smooth transition so that the company continues to lead in the industry.

With many responsibilities on his desk, he still manages to be involved to support the community. He has
been the chair and treasurer of nonprofit Voices for Children and has been part of the Board of Directors
since 2002. He and Kaufman Rossin provide support to the YWCA and he currently chairs the Economic
Justice Council of the nonprofit.

Mr. Heckaman spoke with Miami Today reporter Gabriela Henriquez Stoikow.
