Overview
Laura Duarte is a manager on the Credits & Incentives team in Kaufman Rossin’s Tax Services Advisory Group. She has experience in serving clients across various industries including construction, real estate, manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, technology, and start-ups.
She specializes in cost segregation and leverages her mechanical engineering background to analyze complex construction systems to maximize tax benefits for her clients. Laura has extensive experience in managing detailed engineering-based cost segregation analysis for new constructions and property acquisitions in all principal segments of real estate.
Laura is skilled in federal and state R&D Tax Credit-related tasks, including conducting technical interviews with subject-matter experts to help clients identify, substantiate, and quantify activities and costs qualifying for the R&D tax credit.
Laura earned a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from Florida Atlantic University and her Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from La Universidad De Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
