Kaufman Rossin Named #1 ‘Best Place to Work’ in South Florida for 10th Time

Kaufman Rossin, one of top 100 CPA and advisory firms in the U.S. and the largest independent accounting firm in Florida, announced today it won first place in the large company category in the 2021 “Best Places to Work” competition hosted by the South Florida Business Journal. This is the 10th time the firm has won first place, and the 14th year since 2005 that it has been recognized as an honoree.

The South Florida Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” committee presented the awards in three categories based on company size. Instead of the usual luncheon ceremony, the committee hosted a drive-in theater-style event, an innovation designed to prioritize safety among pandemic concerns.

Rankings in the “Best Places to Work” competition are determined by employees’ answers to an anonymous survey administered by Quantum Workplace. Employers are rated in six categories:

  • Communication and resources
  • Individual needs
  • Manager effectiveness
  • Personal engagement
  • Team dynamics
  • Trust in leadership

Kaufman Rossin was recognized for maintaining its “people-first” culture and principles even amid challenges related to the pandemic and other business disruptions in 2020. While many accounting firms experienced layoffs last year, Kaufman Rossin was able to retain employees, continue providing learning and development opportunities, and recently announced a record number of promotions.

The firm has also found new ways to support employees through these challenging times, including offering virtual yoga and other wellness classes, and hosting a bi-weekly “KR Real Talk” discussion forum for employees through the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiative.

“This recognition is more meaningful than ever this year. Our employees’ continued loyalty to the organization and its leadership is a testament to our strong firm culture,” said Kaufman Rossin CEO Blain Heckaman. “This award honors each of our employees for the way they have continued to collaborate, innovate and share joy at work, despite the challenges of 2020. We’re grateful for our people, and we’re looking forward to an even better 2021 together!”
